Born in New Jersey, Herb Alperin has spent most of his years in Atlanta where he attended Emory and earned his MD from Emory Medical School. He served his Pediatrics residency at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn and at Egleston and Grady Hospitals in Atlanta. He was in private practice before being recruited to join Scottish Rite Hospital. He has served as President of Scottish Rite Medical Staff, Director of Scottish Rite Pediatrics Department, as well as Chair of Pediatrics Departments at Northside and Georgia Baptist Hospitals. An active community volunteer, Dr. Alperin has served in leadership positions of the Atlanta Medical Society, Metropolitan Atlanta Council on Alcohol and Drugs, Ahavath Achim Synagogue, The Westminster Schools, Margaret Mitchell Elementary, and The Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. He currently serves as co-chair of The Grandparents at The Epstein School as well as chair of the Foster Care Committee of the Georgia Chapter American Academy of Pediatrics. A board-certified pediatrician, Dr. Alperin came to Pediatric Associates of Johns Creek, PC from CHOA Primary Care of Marietta where he also was principal investigator of the Diabetes Prevention Program. Dr. Alperin and his wife, Ann, are the parents of two sons and daughters-in-law, and a daughter. They are also the proud playmates of two grandchildren and a grand dog. In his spare time, Dr. Alperin enjoys computers, photography, rock hounding, wheel pottery, and making jewelry. Dr. Alperin sees patients at the Johns Creek office.
